COUNTDOWN TO BFL!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Ok...one more time.

ok ok ok. Well I have bounced back from the strep throat, and now I am ready to restart my BFL. i have been maintaining my eating on bfl pretty well, but haven't worked out again since the day before my illness kicked in. so, for that reason, I am not going to restart my counter shown above, just restart my exercising. i am making a trip to the grocery store today to stock up on some stuff for the week, (and the kids may get hungry), and then I am getting up early tomorrow (before work) and going to the gym. that is my plan.

since i am trying to change the way we eat, i am going to post some recipes that i plan on trying this week so maybe you can try them too! let me know what you think about them, and if you changed anything or tweaked it in any way.

so, my first recipe post will be for the ole' sweet tooth. i definately have one and so does phillip. he did this thing yesterday and was muscle tested for deficiencies which explains his sweet tooth, but more on that later....

well, phillip had his muscles tested today. he is deficient in a lot of areas resulting in fatigue, crankiness, sugar cravings, etc. this really explains a lot. he went with his mom to her chiropractor who also does this muscle testing thing. they also tested charlie to see if there was anything we can do for his epilepsy. anyway, phillip has to go back for an additional test on monday, and we are all going to go and get tested to see what is wrong with us! of course, i don't expect anything will be wrong with me, but am interested to see what is wrong with everyone else!! lol! ;) ...just kidding....good grief! i will post an update on that as soon as we go so everyone can go out and try it for themselves!

well, on to my day. cleaning, groceries, kids. what more can i say? life is good. :)

It's not Swine Flu!

so. like i said yesterday, i woke up not feeling so well, but just thought it was because i was sore from working out or something. i got up and went on to work just to realize that i was actually sick. i called my clients for the day, and rescheduled them and went home to rest. as the day got on, i realized that i did have something, because none of the meds i got at publix made me feel better. i maintained a temp of at least 100 degress even with ibuprophen and nyquil, so i just sucked it up and decided to go to the after hours care at HHWest.

when i arrived at the clinic, of course, there were other ailing folks there, but nobody else with flu-like symptoms. just me. that may not sound like a big deal, but with all of this h1n1 stuff going around, the lady at the desk made me wear a doctors mask in the waiting room. i could just see everyone trying to avoid me....the swine flu girl! you really can't go incognito with a doctors mask on! everyone was avoiding me like the plague! so embarrassing! but, i did what my girl tyra banks always says, i rocked that doctors mask. i decided that i was going to be the cutest (as cute as sick can be) girl in a doctors mask there ever was! then, suddenly, everyone in the room wanted a mask!!!....okay, so it was just the little 7-year old waiting with her grandmother, but I ROCKED IT!

so, the doctor (finally) came in, and determined by means of a throat swab that I indeed had the dreaded STREP THROAT. ick. my throat hurts so bad! like swallowing razor blades i tell you!

well, this really upsets me because i was so stoked about working out and actually looking forward to my next session, but the sore throat really keeps me from eating like i want to (the BFL way) because all i want is something that feels good on my throat that really doesn't take effort to swallow. so, just until i get over this mess, i am going to have to wait unitl monday to get back on track. i really am upset about this. i know it sounds like i am not since i only spent one session in the gym before i got sick (is someone trying to tell me something?), but i really was looking forward to getting back in there! just one little setback in my plans.

well, now it is time for me to go take some more meds and go back to sleep. thanks for reading, and good night...er uh...i mean good nap! ;)

Alive and well!

Well, well, well. Here it is 10 monts from my last blog posting. I have to say I am not proud of that! Over the last (almost) year, I have lost and gained weight and quite a few times, but fortunately I have come out as a LOSER...er...WINNER. I have since participated in another round of the Biggest Loser with my pals and once again....came in SECOND! I almost won it, but it wasn't in the cards for me.....again.

When we started the contest, I had already lost 20 pounds, so I was ahead of the game so to speak, and during the competition I lost another 25 pounds for a grand total of 45! I am really stoked about this accomplishment! All without working out! Now I know what you are thinking....that is lazy! Well, yes. It is. But for some reason, the former gym rat could not get her fat arse up and get to the gym! And after a while, it just became like, "why work out? You are losing". So, I didn't.

Well now that I am down to PRE-LOLA weight, the ole bod is looking pretty pitiful! I mean, I didn't get stretch marks from the pregnancy or anything, but all of that not working out really left me flabby and eeewwww. So, for this reason, and a few others that you really don't want to know about, I have decided to begin my old routine of BODY FOR LIFE! For me, it is really an awesome way to eat and work out! And for some reason, for the past few days I have been wanting to go to the gym (crazy, right??!)! So, last night, I did! I felt so awesome and empowered that I was so excited about going this morning...until I woke up.

I had the old alarm set for 5:00 a.m. so I could get up and go before I went to work, but when I awoke, my throat hurt and I was achey. I did not really sleep well last night despite taking my Simply Sleep tablet! So I knew that working out today was not going to fly. I know it could really sound like I am making exscuses, but really, I am not! I am worried about my clients today getting sick from me if I DO have some sort of illness! Anyway, I got some Zycam and throat drops, and took some Ibuprophren (along with my plethora of other daily drugs...Ginko Biloba, vitamin, etc.), so I hope that all fights it off for me because I really want to go back to that gym tomorrow!

The only thing I can do today is make sure my diet is good. I was PERFECT yesterday, so hopefully I can replicate that today. In fact, I know I will. Body for life is a 12 week diet and exercise program (a must read!) that i am gong to follow to the end this time! I have done it many times, but never got past week 5 because of one thing or another, but this time I am really going to give it my all. If I can hold on for those 12 weeks, the results are PHENOMENAL! Really burns fat and gains muscle! I really need to BURN FAT! So, here I go....AGAIN. Wish me luck as i continue this journey. I am going to give it my all. I may not post everyday, but I am going to keep up with it so I can track my progress with photos (eck!), maybe recipes and updates (I follow a girls blog who photographs everything she eats and posts it...kinda cool. maybe I will??? Her name is Janetha- www.mealsandmoves.wordpress.com). Go check it out. She is rather funny and interesting, and she has an AMAZING Body For Life body!

Ready for my new BODY FOR LIFE body!
